American business is broken. Corporate greed and quarterly earnings pressure is all that matters to CEOs. And it is not entirely their fault, that is all they are measured on by their boards and Wall Street. The talk of corporate culture, purpose and employee mental health is just that, talk. DEI and ESG initiatives are already on their way out. Employees are treated for exactly what they are "at will employees" who can be fired at any time for any reason. They are glorified free-lancers with healthcare benefits.

It's a terrible situation, with no near term answers. Eventually this has to reach a breaking point, but with AI coming online and employees deemed even more replaceable, it's hard to see much hope.
