As a 65 year old boomer, I largely agree with you. We squandered our chances in a chase for money and greed. We did some good things in the fight against cancer, advances in technology (double edge sword) and raising great kids. For me, everything changed with Ronald Reagan, trickle-down economics and the busting of unions. The slashing of taxes on the wealthy, corporations and unchecked Wall Street excess were the result. The destruction of the middle class and the American dream where what we have wrought. I am ashamed of our legacy, the biggest waste of generational opportunity ever. We have earned the scorn of younger generations.
