I agree with your points but don’t agree with the term “alcoholic”. It is not used in the medical or scientific community and implies a life-long disease. Alcohol Use Disorder is the proper term, it is an addiction to a highly addictive, toxic substance that is glorified by our culture. It can be beaten. It’s not easy but successful recovery is possible.
